During the visit of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Brazil for the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, three key events highlighted cultural, historical, and business cooperation between the two countries: the inauguration of the commemorative plaque for President Ho Chi Minh, “Vietnam Day,” and the Brazil-Vietnam Business Forum. Victor Key, President of the Brazil-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended the activities, reinforcing the Chamber’s role in strengthening bilateral relations.

On the morning of November 17, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh participated in the inauguration ceremony of the commemorative plaque for President Ho Chi Minh in the Santa Teresa neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. The site, where Ho Chi Minh worked during his 1912 journey seeking ways to liberate Vietnam, now stands as a historical symbol of friendship between Brazil and Vietnam. The event brought together Brazilian and Vietnamese authorities, highlighting the importance of preserving and celebrating shared cultural and historical heritage.

On the same day, “Vietnam Day in Brazil” celebrated 35 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations. The program in Rio de Janeiro featured exhibitions on bilateral history, UNESCO-recognized world heritage sites, and traditions of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. Visitors experienced Vietnamese cultural art forms, including water puppetry, lion dances, folk music, and cuisine such as traditional Vietnamese coffee. The event highlighted Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage and opportunities for cultural exchange with Brazil.

At the same time, the Brazil-Vietnam Business Forum, held at the Planetário da Gávea, brought together members of the Vietnamese government, the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil, and Brazilian officials, including Ministers Paulo Teixeira and Luciana Santos. The forum emphasized business opportunities, new partnerships, and investments between companies from both countries, as well as sustainable development and technological innovation. Victor Key actively participated in the event, following discussions and reinforcing the Chamber’s commitment to facilitating business dialogue and strengthening economic and commercial ties between Brazil and Vietnam.

These three events demonstrate the growing collaboration between Brazil and Vietnam across multiple fronts, from cultural and historical appreciation to economic and business development. The activities consolidate the friendship between the two countries and open new avenues for strategic cooperation, cultural exchange, and joint development.
