On July 22, OAB Guarulhos hosted the event “BRICS+: An Introduction to Opportunities for International Law”, bringing together legal, business, and diplomatic leaders to discuss new perspectives on international cooperation and the bloc’s impact on the legal field.
The event was opened by Abner Vidal, President of OAB Guarulhos, who stressed the importance of preparing the legal profession for global transformations and the growing role of BRICS+ in shaping new models of international governance.
Speakers included Charles Tang, President of the Brazil-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who shared an overview of the bloc’s economic integration, and Elias Zakharov, diplomat of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who analyzed BRICS+ from a geopolitical and strategic perspective.
Representing the Brazil-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President Victor Key highlighted business and legal cooperation opportunities in Vietnam, a country that recently joined the BRICS partnership. He emphasized Vietnam’s dynamic economy, which is attracting investments in technology, agribusiness, manufacturing, and renewable energy.
Victor noted that this integration opens room for lawyers to act in international trade, cross-border contracts, arbitration, and investment regulation, supporting both Brazilian companies in Vietnam and Asian companies in Brazil.
The event encouraged the legal community to see BRICS+ as a platform for professional growth and stronger global relations.
