The Brazil–Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry participated in the program “5 a 7 | Geopolitics” on Radio Mais Brasil in an episode dedicated to Vietnam and the prospects for closer ties between the two countries. The interview featured Oscar Plentz, Vice President of the Brazil–Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who discussed the organization’s activities and the opportunities to strengthen relations between Brazil and Vietnam.
Hosted by Guilherme Baumhardt, with interviewer Claudio Spritzer, the program explored topics related to Vietnam’s history, culture, economy, and geopolitics, as well as opportunities for cooperation, trade, and business between the two countries.
During the interview, Oscar Plentz highlighted the transformations Vietnam has been undergoing and the country’s growing interest in expanding its international trade relations. In this context, Brazil offers significant opportunities for cooperation, particularly in agribusiness, food, machinery, equipment, and technology.
Plentz also outlined the role of the Brazil–Vietnam Chamber in bringing companies and institutions from both countries closer together. The organization works to build connections, promote institutional dialogue, and identify opportunities that can contribute to business development, investment, and partnerships.
Among the initiatives highlighted were efforts to strengthen ties with Rio Grande do Sul, including a visit by Vietnamese diplomatic representatives to Porto Alegre, meetings with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), and activities aimed at helping companies in the state explore and access the Vietnamese market. One example mentioned was the development of connections with companies in the agricultural machinery and equipment sector.
Another topic discussed was the potential to expand trade in agribusiness products and food. The interview covered initiatives involving Brazilian companies and Vietnamese representatives, including discussions on market access for Brazilian products and opportunities to increase trade between the two countries.
According to Oscar Plentz, raising awareness and knowledge of Vietnam is essential for Brazilian companies to identify new opportunities and establish long-term relationships with the Asian market. The Chamber’s work contributes directly to bringing together the different stakeholders involved in this process.
The Chamber’s participation on Radio Mais Brasil reinforces the commitment of the Brazil–Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promoting dialogue, information sharing, and closer ties between Brazil and Vietnam, helping create new opportunities for trade, investment, and cooperation.
The Chamber thanks Radio Mais Brasil for the opportunity to broaden the discussion about Vietnam and the potential for economic and institutional relations between the two countries.
