On the morning of December 27, 2024, Professor Nguyễn Vũ Thu Hà, Director of the Department of Portuguese at Hanoi University (HANU), held a working meeting with Mr. Victor Key, President of the Brazil-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Brazil Vietnam Chamber), Mr. Natã Oliveira, Vice President of the Chamber, as well as colleagues and representatives of the institution.
The meeting was marked by a rich exchange of information about the foundation, mission, and vision of each organization, highlighting points of convergence between the academic and business sectors. The discussion demonstrated how bilateral cooperation can create new job opportunities, scholarships, and exchange programs that benefit teachers, students, and professionals engaged in Portuguese language studies and in strengthening Brazil-Vietnam relations.
One of the central topics was the support of the Brazil Vietnam Chamber for the Portuguese Department at HANU, aiming to expand the university’s connections with Brazilian institutions. This initiative opens doors for Vietnamese students to participate in exchange programs and experience academic life in Brazil, while also providing Brazilian professors with more opportunities to collaborate with Hanoi University and other Vietnamese institutions.

The meeting was also linked to an ongoing initiative: the partnership between the Brazil Vietnam Chamber and the NGO One Heart for Healing. This project promotes language teaching, cultural cooperation, and educational exchange, broadening academic and professional horizons. In this context, preparations are underway for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hanoi University (HANU), which will mark an important milestone in formalizing this collaboration.
The expectation is that, with this agreement, a solid network of cooperation between Brazil and Vietnam can be built, bringing direct benefits to students, researchers, and faculty. Moreover, strengthening HANU’s Department of Portuguese highlights the role of language as a bridge between cultures and as a tool for deepening commercial, cultural, and diplomatic relations between the two countries.
This meeting, held at a strategic moment of bilateral expansion, reaffirms the Chamber’s commitment to acting as a facilitator of connections that unite education, culture, and business. The dialogue between the Brazil Vietnam Chamber and Hanoi University (HANU) represents a concrete step toward transforming ideas into real opportunities, with a positive impact on academia and the development of future generations.
