Vietnam reinforced its position among the world’s most relevant sourcing destinations at the 2026 edition of the Global Sourcing Fair Vietnam, held from April 22 to 24 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City. Dionathan Santos, Executive President of the Brazil Vietnam Chamber (BVC), represented the institution at the event’s opening ceremony.

An Industrial-Scale Event

Organized by Vinexad in partnership with Global Sources (Hong Kong), the fair brought together over 500 verified suppliers across approximately 700 booths, with a portfolio of more than 40,000 export-ready products. Exhibitors cover four main product groups: Fashion and Accessories, Home and Gifts, Electronics and Home Appliances, and Printing and Packaging. The 2026 edition expanded its scope with new categories: bags and luggage, children’s fashion, personal care and wellness, and stationery.

Participants include companies from Vietnam, mainland China, Hong Kong, South Korea, India, and ASEAN member countries. Among the Vietnamese exhibitors are Vinabedding, TLD Vietnam, Artex Nam An, Sakos, Inochi, Haplast, and Duc Thanh, many of which hold international certifications such as ISO, BSCI, and OEKO-TEX, targeting markets in the United States, Europe, and Japan.

Organizers expect more than 12,000 buyers from over 120 countries, including representatives from global retailers such as Walmart, Staples, Nitori, and Muji. In a hybrid format, the fair also features an online edition connecting approximately 60,000 buyers remotely with exhibitors in real time.

Vietnam as a Strategic Link in the Global Supply Chain

Global Sources CEO James Liu stated at the opening that international buyers are increasingly prioritizing flexibility and supplier diversification, with Vietnam becoming an ever more important manufacturing base in Asia. In his view, the fair exists precisely to connect buyers with suppliers capable of supporting more resilient supply chains.

The data speaks for itself: over 70% of exhibitors operate factories in Vietnam or across Southeast Asia, enabling direct access to regional production with shorter lead times and greater volume flexibility. In a landscape where global companies are actively seeking to reduce dependence on a single supplier, Vietnam stands out as a mature and competitive alternative.

The country exported USD 470 billion in 2025, a year-on-year increase of over 16%, ranking 18th among the world’s largest exporters.

Thematic Pavilions and Business Matchmaking

The 2026 edition debuted the ASEAN Pavilion, featuring exhibitors from Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines, showcasing sustainable fashion, innovative materials, and regional craftsmanship. The Korean Pavilion focused on cosmetics, fabrics, and premium lifestyle products. The E-commerce Pavilion catered to digital sellers exploring regional expansion strategies, offering solutions in logistics and private labeling.

A dedicated pavilion for Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises, organized by the VINASME association, featured products ranging from household goods to sustainable materials and fashion.

The business matchmaking program is set to facilitate over 2,000 pre-arranged meetings between buyers and suppliers, involving more than 100 international buyers from countries including the United States, Australia, the UAE, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. The fair also featured a live fashion runway, sector seminars, and live booth streaming to sustain connections before, during, and after the event.

BVC’s Presence and Institutional Support

Dionathan Santos’ participation in the opening ceremony reflects the Brazil Vietnam Chamber’s role as an institutional bridge between Brazilian businesses and Vietnam’s commercial ecosystem. Founded with the mission of strengthening trade and investment ties between Brazil and Vietnam, the BVC is the only bilateral chamber exclusively dedicated to this relationship, with operations in Sao Paulo, Bac Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Events like the Global Sourcing Fair are directly aligned with the Chamber’s mandate: identifying concrete opportunities for Brazilian companies, whether through access to competitive Vietnamese suppliers or through engagement with global buyers already operating in the country. The BVC holds institutional backing from the Federation of Foreign Trade Chambers (FCCE), the Commercial Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil, InvestSP, and Invest Parana, strengthening its capacity to engage in strategic events such as this one.

For Brazilian companies seeking supply chain diversification or new industrial partnerships in Asia, Vietnam today represents a solid option, combining international standards, expanding infrastructure, and a business environment that continues to draw global attention.
