An official delegation from Lang Son Province, located in northern Vietnam and recognized as one of the country’s most important gateways for trade with China, carried out an institutional mission to Brazil with engagements in São Paulo, Brasília, and Rio de Janeiro. The visit aimed to present the province’s economic potential, strengthen relations with Brazilian institutions, and promote investment opportunities for companies interested in the Vietnamese market.
On June 3, 2026, in São Paulo, the delegation was welcomed by Mr. Victor Key, President of the Brazil Vietnam Chamber (BVC), and Ms. Pham Hong Trang, Head of the Commercial Office of the Embassy of Vietnam in Brazil. During the meeting, participants discussed opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between Brazil and Lang Son Province, as well as initiatives to connect Brazilian companies with opportunities available in the region.
The delegation was led by Mr. Dương Xuân Huyên, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Lang Son Province, who presented an overview of the province’s economic development, highlighting its strategic location on the border with China and its role as a logistics and trade hub in northern Vietnam.
During the presentation, Mr. Dương Xuân Huyên highlighted investments in infrastructure, logistics, and the modernization of border gates, as well as opportunities available to foreign investors. Priority sectors presented included logistics, wind energy, infrastructure, international trade, and projects located within the Dong Dang – Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, one of Vietnam’s most important special economic zones.
Mr. Dương Xuân Huyên expressed Lang Son Province’s interest in strengthening cooperation with the Brazil Vietnam Chamber and requested the Chamber’s support in promoting investment opportunities among the Brazilian business community. According to him, the participation of Brazilian companies could contribute to the development of strategic projects and further expand trade flows between the two countries.
In Brasília, the delegation was received by H.E. Ambassador Bui Van Nghi, Ambassador of Vietnam to Brazil, who emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral economic relations and fostering exchanges among local governments, institutions, and businesses from both countries.
The mission also included an agenda in Rio de Janeiro, where the delegation was welcomed by Ms. Marcelle Torres, Honorary Consul of Vietnam. During the meetings held in the city, opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, and infrastructure were discussed.
The visit of the Lang Son delegation reflects the growing interest of Vietnamese provinces in expanding their presence in Brazil and strengthening ties with the Brazilian private sector. For the Brazil Vietnam Chamber, the mission represents another important step toward building bridges between the two countries and promoting new opportunities for business, investment, and institutional cooperation.
