Brazil and Vietnam Bring Businesses Together at Cashew Nut Business Matching Event

08/10/2026

Event organized by the Brazil Vietnam Chamber brought together companies from both countries and highlighted opportunities to expand trade and integrate supply chains

The commercial relationship between Brazil and Vietnam gained new momentum with the organization of a business matching event dedicated to the cashew nut sector. Organized by the Brazil Vietnam Chamber, in partnership with VINACAS, the Vietnam Cashew Association, and the Trade Office of the Embassy of Vietnam in Brazil, the event brought together representatives of Brazilian and Vietnamese companies to discuss business opportunities, partnerships, and possibilities for greater integration between the two markets.

The event was opened by Victor Key, President of the Brazil Vietnam Chamber, who highlighted the role of companies in building stronger economic relations between the two countries.

“The closer relationship between our countries is built mainly through companies, entrepreneurs, and business. Our mission is to build this bridge between Brazil and Vietnam,” said Victor Key during his opening remarks.

The event was attended by Pham Hong Trang, Commercial Counselor of the Trade Office of the Embassy of Vietnam in Brazil, as well as a VINACAS delegation led by Nguyễn Minh Họa, Vice President of VINACAS, accompanied by Phạm Thị Thủy, Member of the Standing Committee of VINACAS.

Vietnam is a global leader in cashew processing and exports

During the event, Nguyễn Minh Họa presented an overview of Vietnam’s cashew industry and the business opportunities available between Vietnam and Brazil.

The figures presented demonstrate the importance of Vietnam in the international market. In 2025, the country recorded US$5.43 billion in cashew exports, with a volume of 797,739 tons. Vietnam’s industry accounts for approximately 80% of the global cashew export market and has processing capacity of approximately 3.5 million tons.

VINACAS has more than 500 members, including regional associations, major processing companies, and agricultural units, as well as structures dedicated to research and development in the sector. Vietnamese cashew products are exported to more than 112 countries and territories.

The presentation also highlighted the diversity of Vietnam’s cashew industry, ranging from whole cashew kernels classified according to international standards to processed products, snacks, and industrial derivatives such as Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL).

Trade with Brazil shows strong growth

Brazil is emerging as a market with growing potential for the Vietnamese cashew industry.

According to data presented by VINACAS, Vietnamese cashew exports to Brazil increased from 81.42 tons in 2024, valued at approximately US$279,500, to 131.54 tons in 2025, worth US$672,500.

Growth accelerated in 2026. During the first seven months of the year alone, exports to Brazil reached 442.53 tons and US$2.6 million, a volume 3.3 times higher than the total recorded throughout 2025.

The trade relationship also operates in the opposite direction. Vietnam has been increasing its imports of raw Brazilian cashew nuts, strengthening integration between the supply chains of the two countries.

During the first five months of 2026, Vietnam imported 1,120.07 tons of raw cashew nuts from Brazil, compared with 210.05 tons during the entire year of 2025. The volume recorded in just five months of 2026 therefore represents more than five times the total imported during the previous year.

Brazilian and Vietnamese companies move forward with business negotiations

Following the presentation on the Vietnamese market, the event moved to its central stage: business meetings between Brazilian and Vietnamese companies.

The meetings enabled entrepreneurs from both countries to present their demands, products, and capabilities, as well as discuss opportunities involving supply, distribution, imports, exports, and the development of new commercial partnerships.

The initiative aimed to transform institutional connections into concrete business opportunities by putting participants directly in contact with potential partners.

For the Brazil Vietnam Chamber, the event reinforces one of its key areas of activity: connecting Brazilian and Vietnamese companies and creating the conditions for relations between the two countries to translate into business, investment, and long-term partnerships.

The event also received the support of Brazilian sector organizations, including SAGASP, the São Paulo State Wholesale Food Trade Union, BFBA, the Brazilian Association of Food and Beverage Importers and Exporters, and ABNC, the Brazilian Association of Nuts and Dried Fruits.

A market with room for new opportunities

The evolution of trade flows presented during the event demonstrates that the relationship between Brazil and Vietnam in the cashew sector offers opportunities at different points of the value chain.

On one side, Vietnam has a highly developed industry, with strong processing capacity and an established presence in international markets. On the other, Brazil has a large consumer market and companies that can expand their commercial relationships with Vietnamese suppliers and partners.

The business matching event therefore represents another step in building a stronger business agenda between the two countries, bringing companies, industry organizations, and institutions closer together and creating new opportunities for bilateral trade.

Brazil and Vietnam continue to strengthen a relationship based on business connections, trade, and new opportunities.
